Engineering

The successful applicant for this role will be joining AML’s multidisciplinary Engineering Team with a focus on Product Development – the creation and expansion of AML’s suite of software solutions – including both in-house tools and our core customer-facing application. You will be involved in the full development cycle from definition to design, test, and deployment, utilizing documentation and revision control best practices.

Accountabilities
  • Designing, implementing, testing, and supporting windows application software
  • Managing project requirements and release schedules, communicating progress and status
  • Creating scalable, maintainable code with strict revision control
  • Working with stakeholders to understand, document, and satisfy end-user requirements
  • Participating in team SCRUM planning sessions
  • Contributor to team-wide product testing events; peer review of technical solutions
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience working with C#, .NET, and WPF
  • Awareness of user experience; ability to approach problems holistically
  • Understanding of code creation best practices; scalability and maintainability
  • Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server (and Azure cloud services)
  • CI/CD pipeline with Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of SCRUM development practices
  • Deployment tools including ClickOnce and MSIX
  • Experience with PLC programming (Ladder Logic) an asset
  • Knowledge of C and Python an asset

  • Instrument Quantity: 2% increase in qty of instruments built, per quarter
  • Instrument Quality: Out of box / out of inventory failures  < 1% on all instruments
  • Documentation: Ensuring SOPs, Instructions, NCs, etc are current, accurate, and simple to follow
  • Process improvement: Streamlines order streams 1 and 2
  • Execution: Achieves one page plan in 6 of last 8 quarters, on time and within budget
  • Back Up: Provides support to other functions, as needed

The mission of this role is “Changing customer expectations through service.”

The successful applicant for this role will be joining the Instrumentation Service team – troubleshooting, investigating, and repairing high tech instruments and sensors manufactured by AML. This individual is adept at disassembling devices and systematically identifying root cause failures, interpreting technical documentation, testing hypotheses, replacing PCBs, and soldering components- done timely and correctly.

Accountabilities

  • Service Volume: Increase in qty of instruments serviced, per quarter – working smarter to be faster
  • Diagnostics Accuracy: No in-field surprises for undiagnosed issues post service
  • Quality: Out of box failures on repaired instruments and sensors <1% on all orders
  • Documentation: Ensuring SOPs, instructions, NCs, etc. are current, accurate and easy to follow
  • Process Improvement: Streamlines team operations; advocates for better
  • Execution: Reliably achieves merics and priorities every quarter
