About the MVP system and its origin...
First developed by Brooke Ocean Technology and acquired by AML in 2017, the Moving Vessel Profiler was designed for high-density water column profiles continuously and in real-time. AML’s updated MVP is now able to complement SVP or CTD profiles with a wide array of environmental and scientific data. Once simply a hydrographic survey tool, the MVP is now a standard in the ocean science suite of solutions.
AML has installed over 200 Moving Vessel Profilers. The MVP adds value in every situation, a unique mix of maximized efficiency, improved data quality and superior on-board safety. With this robust technology, surveyors achieve more by doing less.
MVP-30 Underway Profiler
Are you tired of stopping your vessel for water column data collection, wasting precious time and resources? Look no further than the MVP-30, a tool that allows you to collect data in real-time. With 185 metres of installed cable, this model is the smallest available system. The MVP-30 supports up to six independent data collection parameters.
MVP-30-350 Underway Profiler
Need to unlock a larger portion of the water column? The MVP-30-350 boasts an installed cable length of 440 metres, while still maintaining a small physical footprint. The MVP-30-350 supports up to six independent data collection parameters.
MVP-200 Underway Profiler
Need something bigger? The MVP-200 is one of two large MVP models, both capable of supporting up to thirteen independent data collection parameters. This system tackles demanding oceanographic surveys, allowing you to collect critical water column data in real-time while your vessel is underway. With the MVP-200, reach depths of up to 660 meters without sacrificing efficiency or accuracy.
MVP-300 Underway Profiler
Go big or go home: the MVP-300 is the largest available system. Designed for larger vessels and bigger projects, simply put, this versatile tool cuts through the hassle. Operating at depths of 3700 metres in conditions up to sea state 7, the MVP-300 maximizes efficiency without sacrificing valuable and costly research time. With up to thirteen data collection parameters mounted on the tow body, surveyors may gather essential water column data seamlessly while underway.
